The Sanctuary of Montgarri is located nearby the Noguera Pallaresa River, on the southern side of the mountains known as ‘Es Bandolèrs’. It belongs to Naut Aran. Although the present building is from the 16th century, its origin goes back to 1117-1119 when, according to tradition, Virgin Mary was found.

How to arrive? C-28 towards Baqueira. Once there, turn left in the direction of Pla de Beret and continue until you come to a car park. We have various options:

In winter you can arrive from the car park using snowshoes, nordic or mountain skiing, dog sleds or snowmobiles.

In summer you can arrive following any of the tracks that skirt the Noguera Pallaresa river. You can also accessed by car from car park through the forest track, direction Alós de Isil.
