The Museu del Ferrocarril de Catalunya is located on the premises of the original steam locomotive depot of Vilanova. It's formed by a semicircular building used as a covered depot for trains, some industrial buildings from the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries in various states of preservation (it allows several activities ) and 34 tracks that converge in a central turntable that distributed the material. The museum?s area covers 12,500 square meters. The Museum exhibits 34 engines (25 steam, 4 electric and 5 diesel), several vehicles:passenger cars, freight wagon, track manteinance vehicles and some singular rarities (third-class wooden car, two luxury cars, a Talgo composition of the '50 - '60, a freight wagon...). The set of vehicles, buildings and facilities have a great plastic force and creates a very suggestive setting.
