Can Nadal is an iconic and monumental house in Caldes d’Estrac ("Caldetas"), in the province of Barcelona (Spain). It was built in 1883 commissioned by Josep María de Nadal Vilardaga, who became the mayor of Barcelona in 1896. Architect Jeroni Martorell was hired to add Neo-Moorish elements to the house: hence the tiles around the windows. During the Civil War (1936-1939), Can Nadal housed the Republican Committee. After the war, subsequent generations of the Nadal family lived in the house during the summers. The house contains three floors and a spacious garden, near the beach.
