The development of this first section of the Street, in the last third of the nineteenth century and the beginning of the 20th century, includes the most relevant architectural interventions, from a formal and representative point of view, both in the bourgeois housing and in the provision linked to the good spirit of this area, represented perfectly by the Kursaal Theater.
Type / Elements
Public building with the main facade open to an atrium and the later one aligned to Carrió Street. The construction has a ground floor and four floors with a unitary and symmetrical composition. The main facade is of classical composition, retreating with respect to the alignment of the Stroll, creating a patio with lateral porches of a plant, supported on columns paired with Ionic capitals. On top there are railings with balustrades. The rear facade, very flat, has a line of windows at the level of the last floor and a triangular pediment at the top. The whole set is a reflection of the Noucentist trends of the period, in its monumentalist-classicist aspect. As decorative elements it is necessary to emphasize the composition of the openings, the use of the classic repertoire (capitals, fronts, columns, etc ...).
