IN THE HEART OF THE PORT OF BARCELONA

The Fundació Barcelona Capital Nàutica is located in an exceptional environment, surrounded by first-class equipment, sports centers and specialized companies in the nautical sector.

It is located in the beautiful middle of the Moll de Llevant of the Port of Barcelona, at the end of Passeig Joan de Borbó, a continuation of the emblematic seafaring district of Barceloneta. An area of emerging activity with a new marina with state-of-the-art facilities, Marina Vela Barcelona. A privileged stronghold of the city due to its proximity to the beach and access to the open sea. The Foundation is located in the old tugboat building, built in 1911, lent by the Port of Barcelona and remodeled by the architects Carles Ferrater and Jordi Carbonell in 2010.

The Foundation also has two ships:

  • The Mirabaud is a 60-foot IMOCA built in La Rochelle in 1990. It has participated in several regattas, including three Routes du Rhum, a Vendée Globe and the 2010 edition of the Barcelona World Race.
  • The Charisma is a 17.40 meter long sloop designed by Sparkman & Stephens, built in the United States and launched in 1970. Charisma has been sailed by sailors totaling more than 20 laps around the world.
