Set of four blocks of semi-detached single-family houses built between 1955 and 1958 as housing for the workers of the La Seda factory in Barcelona. With a double-sided roof and massive wooden porticoes painted in white and green, they are reminiscent of the constructions of the Netherlands, where its promoter Carles Stulemeijer (director of the factory from 1927 to 1955) was a native.
Also popularly known as 'the Dutch houses', they have the same exterior structure even though they were originally single-family, with a ground floor and a floor; ground floor, and floor.
The Casas de la Seda have kept their original features and are listed in the Prat heritage catalogue.
