Can Peixauet is a country house originally built during the 12th century. In the 17th and 19th centuries it was refurbished and expanded into its current appearance. It is believed it was originally called Mas Vilallonga, while in the 14th century it was known as Mas Castellar. In the middle of the 19th century, it belonged to Jaume Pons, who was known as Peixauet, so the house was named after him. In 1992 it was acquired by the Santa Coloma de Gramenet City Council. It is, at present, a municipal library.
