Current headquarters of the municipal museum, the Balldovina Tower is a building that has undergone several transformations over time: it was a defense tower in the 11th century, an agricultural building in the 14th century, a manor house in the 18th century and, finally, the summer residence of the family of the writer Josep Maria de Sagarra. In 1972 the tower was acquired by the City Council and since 1987 it houses the Municipal Museum and the Historical Archive of the city.
