Palma Pictures was founded in 1993; the company quickly attracted a stream of advertising agencies and film companies, and in 2000, we moved to a purpose-built studio complex in Marratxí, Mallorca.
Today, Palma Pictures continues to guarantee high-quality content capture, providing end-to-end production service across all formats. Our headquarters in Mallorca is home to our production complex and studio (supported by clean energy from solar panels) and we offer production solutions across mainland Spain, the Balearic and Canary Islands, and Portugal.
With offices in Barcelona, Lisbon, and Santa Cruz de Tenerife, plus team members in London and New York, we’re always within reach – no matter where your project takes flight. We pride ourselves on delivering excellent production services with a personal touch. Our team and our capabilities have grown; the boutique atmosphere and bespoke, personalised service, are still the core of our approach.
We are proud to have held the European EMAS and ISO 14001 certifications since 2011. As members of SEDEX, we are committed to promoting ethical and responsible practices in all aspects of our activity.
Some examples of how we ensure that our work is as respectful as possible with the planet:
- Our production complex has over 100 solar panels, installed in 2017; in 2018, we carried out a complete shoot exclusively with solar energy.
- We carry out an environmental impact study for each project. This data is used to evaluate each project and is included in our environmental impact audit.
- We follow strict recycling procedures in the office, filming and catering areas.
- The costume and art department prioritizes rental over purchase. At the end of the project, we donate items so that they can be reused.
- We collect food and donate to associations or NGOs, such as Mallorca sens fam. We hold an annual environmental day, in which all our staff visit the local community to collaborate on an environmental project.
One of our goals was to replace diesel generators with electric generators that do not depend on fossil fuels. Thanks to the grant from the Fundació Mallorca Turisme Consell de Mallorca for Green Film, we were able to acquire four electric generators, two of 6 kW and two of 1 kW, which are recharged in our facilities using solar panels. With them, we provide sustainable energy anywhere to our cameras, monitors, spotlights, computers, etc. This reduces our GHG emissions into the atmosphere and, at the same time, our carbon footprint.
