Filmin is a video on demand platform based in Spain focused in independent and arthouse cinema.
Founded by some of the main spanish producers, distributors and cinema exhibitors as El Deseo (Pedro and Agustín Almodóvar), Tornasol (Gerardo Herrero), Wanda Visión (José María Morales), Vértigo (Wild Bunch), Avalon Distribución, Golem Distribución, Versus Entertainment and Cameo Media. Awarded with the Ciutat de Barcelona Prize, Premio Tendències from El Mundo newspaper, Time Out Award for the Most Innovative Spanish Company of the Year, Filmin has maintained since its creation in 2007 its pioneer character. It was the first company to offer subscription services (SVOD), to develop an app for iPad and iPhone, to offer streaming in HD or to create online film festivals.
Filmin offers more than 7.500 feature films and television series plus 1.100 shortfilm, the largest VOD catalogue of any European company. It is also one of the founding associates of EuroVoD, the first European Association for Online Cinema which is developing the tools and the necessary mechanisms to create a unique platform, which is absolutly essential to guarantee the future for European cinema.
