Carlos invites his father and brother to spend a pleasant weekend with himself and his wife Ana in an isolated house deep in the forest. However, things do not turn out as expected when a bearded dwarf who claims to be God breaks into the house and threatens to destroy the whole human race the following morning. He tells them that they have been chosen to select the two people who will be saved from extermination. The destiny of humankind now lies in the hands of a depressed man, a woman who cannot have children, a man whose wife has cheated on him and old man with a heart condition, who will all obviously be willing to be part of the new world.
