The Institut Botànic de Barcelona is principally dedicated to botanic research. Since 2003 it has been located in the Jardí Botànic on the mountain of Montjuïc. The building which houses it was designed by Carles Ferrater, who has been a candidate for several architecture awards.

The entrance, on the highest point of Montjuïc mountain, boasts a spectacular panorama of Barcelona city and the Serralada Prelitoral Mountains. Along with its scientific facilities, the building also has an exhibition hall and a small auditorium.

Exhibition Hall

The Exhibition Hall is located on the ground floor of the Botanical Institute with views to the city of Barcelona. It is a diaphanous and minimalist space with some dividing elements that can condition the distribution of the space. It is ideal for activities like exhibitions, showrooms, cocktails, lunch or dinner in banquet style, etc. As complementary spaces to this room it can be used the porch or the meadow, which are in front of the room and in front of the building respectively, for coffee breaks, cocktails and welcome drinks; as well as the Descoberta Room that can be used for catering logistics (rent apart).

This space will be unavailable until 2023.

Salvador Hall

Salvador Hall is located on the ground floor of the Botanical Institute and is a space with views to the city of Barcelona. In addition this room saves with special care Salvador family’s Cabinet of Natural History. It is ideal for activities like conferences, presentations, courses, seminars, work sessions, screenings, press conferences, etc. As complementary spaces to this room it can be used the porch or the meadow, which are in front of the room and in front of the building respectively, for coffee breaks, cocktails and welcome drinks; as well as the Descoberta Room that can be used for catering logistics (rent apart).
