Palafolls - Maresme Film Commission

At the rising end of the Maresme, in the submarine called the Selva Marítima, a unique reality is hidden, which often goes unnoticed in the eyes of all: Palafolls (9.256 inhabitants), a municipality crowned by the remains of a majestic castle (1,035) that still dominates the plain of Tordera, and marvels all the territories that belonged to the ancient barony of Palafolls (the current terms of Palafolls, Malgrat, Santa Susanna and part of Blanes).

Next to Tordera, the municipality has taken advantage of its agricultural history thanks to one of the most powerful cooperatives of the country and the dynamization of the fields and the culture of the Jew of the Ganxet (DO).

Palafolls is born in the town of Sant Genís (947) and retains its 11th century church. Ten centuries later, the castle observes from its privileged watchtower as some of the geniuses of architecture have complemented a natural environment full of forests in the Sierra de Miralles (335m, Montnegre).

But neither the same Enric Miralles, Arata Isozaki or Benedetta Tagliabue, have not been able to match the surprising, valuable and also mysterious extensive heritage network of historical farmhouses that connect the rural past of the lord of the castle with Palafolls of the 21st century, even with underground ducts that any producer will want to discover.
