Scientific facilities situated in the middle of a historic and architectural site. Located in the heart of a natural area of 910 m. height above sea level. The distance from Barcelona is 1 ¼ hour drive.
The building of the dome is modern (2004), two plants. The building has a ground floor 5 x 6 m., an office 2,5 x 3 m. and the upper floor which contains a dome 5 m. in diameter with a telescope in the middle.
The dome is surrounded by a historical-architectural site. The dome itself and already described, the remains of the Montedono castle dating from the seventh century, the church of San Miguel de Castelltallat documented in 1031, and which Rectory dates from the year 1642.
To the outside the landscape dominates all Catalonia (to the be situated to the centre), the mountain of Montserrat, the Tibidabo, the park of Sant Llorenç i l'Obac, the Montseny and big part of the Pyrenees, with views practically to the 360 º.
For the shootings there is access to the building of the dome, and to the inferior part of the old building ( the Rectoria) that offers several rooms with walls of stone, wooden ceilings, Gothic arcades, etc.
