The Palau Nacional, the building that houses the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya, has several spaces for filming and photographic sessions of all kinds, thanks to the versatility of its facilities. The building is also famous as it is one of the most emblematic of Barcelona, and was the backdrop for the 1929 International Exposition. Over the years it has been transformed into one of the architectural icons that shape the city’s skyline. It has a large car park and is surrounded by outdoor areas.

The Museu Nacional offers the entire building as a space for filming or photo shoots and includes the following:

Permanent exhibition rooms
Permanent exhibitions of Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque art in spaces that, as well as containing emblematic works, give a unique style of architecture to the building.

Sala Oval
It is one of the largest halls in Europe, with an area of 1,600 m2. Its main feature is the enormous dome which allows natural light to come in, and the organ, 34 m long and 11 m high, which presides over the room from the balcony. It is a multipurpose space suitable for all kinds of activities thanks to its technical equipment.

Cúpula Room
A tall, open space with plenty of natural light. The ceiling frescoes are the originals from 1929 and the room is surrounded by sculptures from the Modern Art Collection and a mural by Joan Miró.

Hall
The foyer is a 400 m2 space that precedes the Sala Oval, where the entrances to the Dome Room on the first floor and to the Museum collections are located. Here you can see the architecture of 1929 in its purest form.

Roof-Viewpoint
The Palau has a terrace located at the entrance of the Museum with privileged views of the city and the Magic Fountain of Montjuïc. The space is 400 m2 and can be made private. From the roofs you can enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view of the city and take in the spectacular vistas while surrounded by the domes and architecture of 1929.

Òleum Restaurant
The restaurant is located in the former Throne Room of the Palau Nacional and offers exceptional views of Barcelona through its large windows.
