WARNING: During the summer season (June 1 to September 30) filming on the beaches are limited to weekdays and from 7am to 10am or 7pm to 10pm.

Until recently, this beach gave its name to the coastal strip between Sant Miquel beach and the Moll de Marina pier. When part of this stretch recovered its original name – Somorrostro beach – Barceloneta beach became the part between the Gas breakwater, also known as the Ginebra breakwater, and the aforementioned Sant Miquel beach.

Barceloneta beach is 422 metres long and is one of the oldest and most traditional in the city. It is a favourite amongst foreign visitors, and also youth groups and schools, who often use it for activities.

An arcade runs the length of the top of beach. It accommodates the Espai de Mar (Sea Space) centre, a facility designed to facilitate access to the beach and marine environment through the inclusive practice of sport and leisure.
